Drunken Atlantic City Boater Indicted In Deadly Summer Crash: Prosecutor

An Atlantic City man was indicted after a boat crash killed a woman last summer, authorities said.

A grand jury indicted 53-year-old Jeffrey Jastrzembski for first-degree aggravated manslaughter on Tuesday, Mar. 19, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced in a news release. He was charged in the deadly crash on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023.

Prosecutors said Jastrzembski was driving a boat in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Albany Avenue bridge just after 5 p.m. He was accused of speeding towards the docks and making a sharp left turn.

Norma Michaels, 70, of Atlantic City, was hit by Jastrzembski's boat propeller and killed. Investigators said Jastrzembski's blood alcohol content was between 0.19 and 0.23 percent at the time of the crash.

Jastrzembski was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 11.
